Lab Director Kirsten Zickfeld has won the 2017 President’s Prize of the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (CMOS) for her paper 2009 “Setting cumulative emissions to reduce the risk of dangerous climate change”, which was one of the first to introduce the carbon budget concept.

Congratulations to former lab member Kasia Tokarska for winning the Tertia M.C. Hughes Memorial Graduate Student Prize of the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (CMOS) for her thesis “The carbon-climate system response at high amounts of cumulative carbon emissions, and the role of non-CO2 forcing and observational constraints on cumulative carbon budgets” at the University of Victoria.
