Welcome to SFU Environmental Science student Rachel Chimuka who will join the Climate Research Lab for the summer to work on a project on the carbon cycle response to carbon dioxide removal. To fund her project Rachel was awarded a VPR Sciences Undergraduate Research Assistantshi0p.

Kirsten Zickfeld attended the Fourth Lead Author Meeting of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5 degrees in Gaborone, Botswana. Authors started work on the final draft of the report, which will be released in October.

Ph.D. student Mehdi Aminipouri gave a talk at the European Geophysical Union meeting in Vienna about his work modelling the impact of heat mitigation measures on pedestrian thermal comfort in Vancouver.
